For some people who do not know, Boracay is the name of the island in the southern island of Luzon Filipina.Terletak where Manila, the Philippine capital is located. This island including the famous tourist destination because it has a beach with white sand and clean. In 1990 Boracay honored as one of the best beaches in the world by the BMW Tropical Beach Handbook and re-awarded as number one tropical beach in the world by a British TV show, TV Quick. On this basis, I and my friends decided to explore Boracay.
Boracay also known as the beach and sea activities, such as diving, snorkeling, sea walking, jet skiing, parasailing, or just island hopping to several small islands around Boracay. There is also a tourist attraction cave bats and Puka Beach, where there are many types of Puka shells.
To go to Boracay, we have to travel quite long. Use a small plane from Manila to Kalibo town in Panay Island for 45 minutes. From there continue by bus for 2 hours to the port in Caticlan. On arrival at the port of Caticlan, we crossed to the island of Boracay for 20 minutes. Already complete our journey from the path of air, land, until the sea.
Arriving in Boracay, someone picked us up using a pick-up vehicle to take us lodgings. Sights along the way at a glance like the Edge Tile, West Java. The difference here many Tricycle, public transport is a motorcycle with a passenger seat on his right side.
Boracay has two main beaches, namely Bulabog Beach and White Beach. The first place we visited was Bulabog Beach, because it's close from where we were staying. These tend to be deserted beach. When it does not seem tourists sunbathing or activities at sea, only a few small children playing local residents and several youths were swimming. It's an atmosphere that is obtained when we were in Bulabog Beach. Quiet and peaceful. Coupled with Bulabog Beach sand is white and smooth, calm sea water, and some washed up seaweed air.sangat fun.
Next, we walk 15 minutes to White Beach. This is the crowded center of Boracay. We walked along the white sand along the beach. On the left of the road there are plenty of dining and lodging ranging from simple to exclusive. There is also a post office, tourist information centers, nightclubs, and also a souvenir shop. Here the atmosphere is decidedly different.
White Beach is divided into three areas as Station 1, 2 and 3. Station 1 more numerous prestigious hotels such as Mandarin Hotel. Meanwhile, Station 2 is the heart of the island where there are many night spots. Meanwhile, Station 3 has a lot of the cheaper lodgings backpacker style.
Along the White Beach, we considered several times the local people. After much talking with locals, tourists Indonesia was seldom to be found in Boracay. Generally tourists from Japan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Europe are mostly found here.
Me and my friends spent 4 days in Boracay. We only got to enjoy the sunset on the first and last day of the rest just because the weather drizzle to heavy rain. But the view of our first sunset is so beautiful! The sun really "sink" in the horizontal line. A rare sight we encountered. Meanwhile, on the last day we had time to catch the sunset in the middle of the afternoon drizzle, among the sky is pink. Incredibly beautiful!
Boracay Island in the Philippines was chosen as the best beaches in the world in 1990 and 1996.
Boracay is a hidden secret until the 1970s but when the tourism slowly began to expand dramatically beautiful beaches it soon became one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines.
The island is no longer natural, but the beach is still beautiful and intensively maintained by local governments. No smoking and littering the beach is one way to maintain the cleanliness and beauty of these beaches and will incur substantial penalties if violated. It was therefore the beach is still one of the best beaches in the world.
Boracay offers many interesting things to do, such as scuba diving, hiking, climbing, windsurfing, kite up, snorkelling and even gokarts. Many restaurants offering various cuisines from almost every country food such as Japan, Korea, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Indonesia and China and at an affordable price. Also many clubs and other entertainment venues are not far from the beach.
The best and fastest way to get there of course through the air, if you are in Indonesia this means having to transfer in Manila. There are several airlines with the aim to Manila from Jakarta, such as: Cebu Pacific directly biased towards philipine, but not with a JetStar. If you're in the big cities of Indonesia's good transfer in Singapore.
There are two airports around the island of Boracay: airports Caticlan and Kalibo airports on the island of Panay. Both airports have regular flights from Manila. Caticlan Airport just a few miles from the port of the ship and to go to Boracay from Kalibo only takes two hours from the port. Since this is a larger airport, the flight can also be cheaper. In front of the Kalibo airport there are many minivans that you can use as a means of transportation to the port of Caticlan (PHP 200).
History
Boracay was originally home to the Ati tribe. Boracay is part of Aklan Province, which became an independent province on April 25, 1956.
Decades ago, Boracay Island was an almost possessively guarded secret so that only a few knew of its existence. Tourism only began to develop in the 1970s, it is said, a foreign movie crew accidentally "discovered" this island paradise.
In the 1980s, the island became popular with backpackers. Since then, Boracay has gradually become a cosmopolitan tourism destination and, in the 21st century, has become one of the major tourist destinations in the Philippines.
Geography
Boracay Island is located off the northwest corner of Panay Island, and belongs to the Western Visayas island-group, or Region VI, of the Philippines. The island is approximately seven kilometers long, dog-bone shaped with the narrowest spot being less than one kilometer wide, and has a total land area of 10.32 square kilometers.
South-facing Cagban Beach is located across a small strait from the jetty port at Caticlan on Panay island, and the Cagban jetty port serves as Boracay's main entry and exit point during most of the year. When wind and sea conditions dictate, east-facing Tambisaan Beach serves as an alternative entry and exit point.
Boracay's two primary tourism beaches, White Beach and Bulabog Beach, are located on opposite sides of the island's narrow central area. White Beach faces westward and Bulabog Beach faces eastward. The island also has several other beaches.
White Beach is the main tourism beach. It is about four kilometers long and is lined with resorts, hotels, lodging houses, restaurants, and other tourism-related businesses. In the central portion, for about two kilometers, there is a footpath known as the Beachfront Path separating the beach itself from the establishments located along it. North and south of the Beachfront Path, beachfront establishments do literally front along the beach itself. Several roads and paths connect the Beachfront Path with Boracay's Main Road, a vehicular road which runs the length of the island. At the extreme northern end of White Beach, a footpath runs around the headland there and connects White Beach with Diniwid Beach.
Bulabog Beach, across the island from White Beach, is the second most popular tourism beach on the island and Boracay's main windsurfing and kiteboarding area.
Boracay is divided, for land use and conservation purposes, into 400 hectares of preserved forestland and 628.96 hectares of agricultural land
